Whittier to commerce

Has anybody ridden from Whittier college to commerce casino?

I'm new to Whittier and was wondering how "sketch" that ride may be.

Thanks

Maybe Rick can chime in and give you better advice but I personally don't really think it would be that enjoyable - there is a lot of truck traffic on those roads in Pico and south montebello... I used to drive a lot on Washington over to Telegraph, which is probably about the route you would take and I don't recall thinking "Hey, I'd really like to ride my bike over here". Are you thinking of commuting or is this a one time attempt to lose your tuition?

Go South instead to HG Casino, aka `The Gardens`.

Take Painter -> Carmenita -> to avoid the horrible I-5 bridge crossing, go left at Foster, get on the CC bike path, exit at Rosecrans, diagonally right across to Best and enter the Freeway Dr Industrial Park. Go left on Pumice to stay in the Industrial Park. Meander through there and go left on Freeway Dr, quick right takes you to the Alondra Bridge going west on Alondra, then left on Moody. Moody goes to Lincoln, then right all the way to the Poker Room. Lincoln may not be the best way to cycle, but it is the most direct route. You might want to go across on Centralia instead.

All in all, its about 12 miles or less. You could even take the SGRT south from Beverly Blvd and exit at Carson Ave and go left (or East).

The only thing Commerce has that HG doesn't is the OTB Franchise.
