Glad to see I'm not the only one whose mileage has dropped off over the last quarter, and who is wondering if any of my cycling gear still fits... I need to sign up for some rides to get motivated to put in miles from now until Spring. The morning rides are getting harder for some reason!

[QUOTE=jmX;17444827]I'm still here, check the forum a couple time a week. Since co-founding Zwift (game for bicycle trainers) I've ridden very little. I used to be a SART ***** and now I'm out there once every 4 weeks - maybe. Did Mt baldy twice in 2014?

I pumped my tires up this weekend, but I didn't actually ride.

It's funny I just saw an article for Zwift today and was wondering if it was your product - i think you posted something a long time ago about a program you were working on to make riding a trainer more entertaining. It sounded cool then and it looks pretty cool now!

jimxyz - I did a trainer ride last night in basketball shorts as I didn't want to find out what my bibs felt like.. LOL Pretty soon I'll have to face the music

JmX - Good to see you on here. Awesome news. I am watching Swift closely as you know I am an indoor junkie- Got on the list at about 14K i believe and hoping my old, but updated imac will handle the software. Just slapped a 4 gigs of memory from 1 gb and noticed that was the minimum recommendation. Wish I would have gone with 8.
I too thought it looked familiar when I first saw it and thought it looked alot like the game you were putting together. Full time gig for you ? or still 9 to 5'ing it ?

I feel embarrassingly average. Over the past year I've ridden about 1,500 miles on my solo bike. My wife and I have ridden about 800 miles on our tandem. That means we're not couch potatoes, but we can't keep up with Rick@OCRR, either! We ride on the SGRT and Coyote Creek starting from the Centralia/Pioneer area. We also ride along Lampson and other quiet streets starting from the Beach/Lampson area.

One great thing about our average condition is that we are both healthy and happy, thank God.

Happy New Year, everyone!

Still riding year around. Here'e some motivation, I just finished riding in the snow with 4-5" on the ground and still snowing. There is nothing more fun then doing an urban assult ride with snow on the ground. I will ride in any snow that does not come up over the pedals. Feet get to wet.
P.S. Of course I use my MTB with Knobbies.

Happy New Year, everyone!
I'm not sure I'll be able to keep up my pace of 2014 but I did ride the Los Angeles Wheelmen New Years Day century (only 94 miles, <100 mi. is typical for Los Angeles Wheelmen) and I signed up for the Camino Real Double, which is Feb. 21st.

Still commuting to work by bike and doing the OCRR Tues. evening rides. Have to get back up into the mountains again but have not wanted to freeze. May have to just HTFU, bundle up and go for it. At least Mt. Baldy Lodge has a good fire going this time of year!

The real question around here should be "Where's Mr. Beanz ?"

As a matter of fact, he's still SART Mayor, I saw his ride and he responded to me on Strava yesterday!.

I'm keeping this thread alive until Beanz responds. Oh, and Jimmy too!

I remember that too but couldn't he just sign in as a different "identity" and thereby start a new (virtual) life?

I'm working on the mac version right now It's a full time gig, and I've hired quite a few people to help actually. Would hire more if I could find more good programmers! Jens Voigt, Ted King, Jani Brajkovik and Taylor Phinney seem to show up quite often, altho I have to imagine they'll be at their training camps soon and may be on Zwift less and less.

Anyway, I got out on my bike today and rode outside!

Cool, which article? Bicycling? I used to post about it on here way back in 2011, it's been a hobby of mine for a long time. Felt risky to quit my job to pursue it but now no matter what happens I feel it was worth it. Definitely a life changing experience.

Okay, will look for you and your Magic bike on Camino Real. 5:30 AM start? That's what I'll be doing. Will be in either OCRR or CAL Triple Crown kit but riding the KHS for sure.

I really wish you Socal'ers would stop "Where am I going to race today and in what Kit". As for me, I am getting ready to go out and ride (survive) in 4" of snow. :-))

jbenkert111, If you're going to visit the Southern California sub-forum you might as well get used to it .

Hope you have a fun ride in the snow! Do you have a FAT bike? I hear those are good in the snow!

Genaro - I am actually happy to see the cold weather moving in so I can cover up with a jacket. haha I need to get out the trainer and get on jmX's system. Takes forever to lose the weight but man I can pack it on fast.

jmX - Yes, Bicycling's recent issue. Good for you. Very cool to start up a business venture like that. I feel like I got in on the ground floor, pre IPO of your company just from reading about it on here. lol. Let us know when the MAC version is ready, I'd love to do a virtual ride with family members who are spread out around the country.

I got two separate emails from bicycling that mentioned Zwift. Good luck with your venture and don't forget to ride! (ha ha)

In other news - check this out - Strava Segment | Zwift Orange Jersey Sprint What is it? Any relation? A friend of mine was riding out there (middle of the pacific ocean)

Cool! It was interesting being interviewed for magazine articles...nice to see the payoffs.

That is indeed on the Zwift island course....17,880 attempts now huh? Shows you we're getting some traffic! Sad that I'm 61st place, but hey, we can't all be winners. I picked a place on the map that was a) near the equator to make math easy, and 2) desolate, so we wouldn't screw up actual real world strava segments.

I'm still here! I spend more hours on a spin bike than a regular bike but I'm trying to fix that.
