Good Wheel Guy(s) in Tucson?

Apparently I've been riding on an out-of-true rear wheel for quite some time and didn't notice until recently. I wouldn't trust myself to fix it quite yet and I've never had to take anything into a shop for repairs before. Any Tucson riders have particular shops or individuals they trust with their wheels?

I've had a lot of luck with Sabino Cycles. The wheel they built on my old bike holds the record for the most miles under my Clyde body (about 8000). I'd still be riding it, but the hub died. I should have had them build it on a new hub. I just bought a new bike from them and had them build the wheels. Even if I had bought a bike elsewhere, they would have built the wheels.

What is the name of the person who actually built the wheel?

Fairwheel is the oldest and most centrally located shop in town. Good service, prices, and very knowledgeable. There's also Arizona Cyclist, who are out east. Ordinary Bikes off of 4th Ave. If you want to fix it yourself for a few bucks, there's BICAS. www.bicas.org

I would not recommend Ajo or Broadway bikes, but not due to a bad experience.

Why would you say that? I know the workers there fairly well. I can tell you Sabino Cycles = failure of a bike shop.

Don't care for Broadway bikes, especially their prices.
I've had good and bad experiences from Ajo. That inconsistency scares me and I use caution.
Sabino is ok, bought two bikes there on discount/demos. I like that fact that they put on demo's out at Fantasy Island. No other shop has done that... have they?
Fairwheel is decent, they have been accommodating to me for warranty work. I'd go back there again.
Otherwise, I'm having my wheels built from someone out of state. Sorry, just don't have any personal knowledge of a quality local builder.

I've had good luck with Steve over at Ordinary Bike Shop. He rebuilt my rear wheel after the spokes started breaking. ( I was a clyde at the time) I also had him rebuild my front wheel after an accident really messed it up.
