My kids no longer want to go riding with me, so my tandem is up for sale. But check out the smiles when we used to cruise around on it!!! $550
KHS Tandemania
-- Very nice quality bike, 7008 Aluminum frame
-- Nice 7x3 components, with many upgrades (carbon bar, Shimano XT derailleur, slick Conti tires, SPD pedals)
-- You could outfit this for touring and ride it across the country. Has provision for front & rear racks, drum brake, etc.
-- This is a nice bike. It is neither a megabuck boutique bike ($3k and up!) nor a Walmart junker (that can barely navigate a bike trail).
Mountain bike style frame is hard to measure. Was a touch big for me, at 5'7" but worked fine for my use.
Front (Captain) 58cm or so, fits 5'7"-6'0 +
Rear (Stoker) 48cm or so, fits 4' - 5'8"+
Included is a set of "kidback" crank shorteners. These attach to the crank to reduce the pedal stroke (and shorten the effective seat tube). I used this tandem when my kids were about 4 foot or shorter. So you can put a kid in the back (hence the name).
She only saw about 100 miles of bike trail use under my ownership. I bought it from another dad who did the same. Passing it on to someone who will introduce their kid (or spouse) to the beauty of the open road.
Located in NorCal (SF Bay Area). Shipping may be possible but I have absolutely no idea how to ship something like this. Captain seat not included.
