Retro's comments may have some validity, but cycling is still cycling. I don't think I'd have put a HR on the stoker either, but it gave you the data you wanted and the stoker is still riding- it worked. There are way more than 6 teams out there wanting to go fast. Cycling is NOT fundamentally a social activity (neither is eating/drinking, but that's not how most folks practice it- wonder if that's why they're overweight?). If that's your rationale for riding, I'd stay off the roads on and stay on cyclnig paths for your own safety. There's nothing more dangerous I see cyclists doing on the road than riding 2-3 abreast so they can carry on conversations. Dr. Safety.
