Awesome, corners don't look like they'll be fun but I bet it gets moving.

What do you mean by the seat is too tall?

Are you trying to touch the ground while seated? Donít do that. Or can you not reach while straddling the top tube? If thatís the case, this is a dangerous bike. Get rid of it.

if you havenít ridden a tandem before, read this: The Proper Method

The bike looks a bit too big for you by your description. On a triple I would put both foot down at a stop because of how much weight is behind you. So whether you can touch one toe to the ground on a stop is a moot point when you are holding up 400+lbs (170+Kg). Never ever drop your stoker(s). It's bad karma.

You can try finding an stoker stem that doesn't requires less clamping height (the amount of seatpost the clamp requires) and which doesn't have such a steep angle, it might make the saddle to pedal distance a bit more bearable.

you mean like a skinner stoker steam where it clamps on to to the saddle seat post under the saddle ?

The standard rule for any bicycle is that you must be able to straddle the top tube with both feet flat on the ground. And with room to slide a finger or two under. Definitely not resting on the bar. Or on tip-toes.
This is even more critical for tandems since as the captain you have to get on the bike first, and hold the bike firmly while everyone behind you climbs on (and off) the bike.

If you can't do that, then you bought a bike that is way too big for you.

I see you have created a separate thread about converting from 700c to 26 inch.
Trying to run smaller wheels to compensate for a wrongly sized frame is not a good solution.
Yes you might gain 1 inch or so in standover height, but you also need to consider:

1) The bike was designed around a 700c wheel spec. Changing to 26 may cause other issues (geometry, handling, etc.).
2) Changing to 26 may also become costly, due to alignment of rim brakes, fenders, etc.
3) It doesn't fix the fact that your seatpost is already slammed all the way down. If you need it down lower even while seated then this frame is way too large for you.

The frame in the picture looks like an XL. Shame on whoever sold it to you. If they had any decency they would have told you that you should not be buying their bike.
If it's not too late you should consider returning it and starting over with something else.

Good Luck!

Seeing talking back and forth, quick question wsa30h, when you straddle the top tube can you stand flat footed? It looks like you are saying you can not, only straddle the bike on your tip toes. As stated above, if this is the case the bike is too big. The only way to go to 26" wheels would be to have the brake bosses re-positioned to fit 26". This might be possible but you would then lower the bottom bracket to the ground which would create a chnge in the handling and might create risk of peddle striking the ground on turns.

If the wheels are already 26 then the next available size down is 24 inches.

24 inch wheels would pose all the same (if not more) problems as moving from 700c down to 26.

What size are the tires? 26 x ?. They look fairly fat. Perhaps somewhat skinnier (but robust) tires would help lower you down a bit.
