No doubt, you already know the following french sites on tandems?

Whe know Aria drum brake, but whe want Disque brake, drum can "boil" also. Y remeber y become red on our old Lejeune tandem. My question is about size of the disk, for a good dissipation of the heat. Whe use in alternation rims brakes and disk brake in long donwhill.
Y know french tandem sites, but whe want another opinion because our practice is not a standard practice. English language community seems largest.
Thank's for your french translate.

I have not used the Mono M6 but this has a larger caliper area which will help with heat dispersal and also has a larger pad area.

our choice for Mono M4, certainly. for large disk, 200mm, and for the quality of building. It's beautiful manufacture.
Whe dont'want mechanical. Braking result is not at the same level than hydro disk; Our tandem use rear mechanical disk, an hold first model from hope, it's a good speed reducer but a bad brake.
Metal hoses connections (?) take part in hot dissipation?

""If you want to permanently limit the top speed, the Arai is the best choice. Realise this: disc brakes are very powerful, but more complicated than rim brakes - especially in comparison to Magura's HS-33 rim brakes. On disc brakes, there's more to go wrong. If you prefer simplicity, go for the HS-33s""
That's our choice. HS33 for simplicity and performance. And whe find adaptables Vbrakes everywhere around the world. And the disk brake for helping if needed.
Bicycle must be simple for me, that's her beauty
(My english is simple, but that's not his beauty....)

Have Hope Mono M4 on our road/touring tandem as an upgrade to the standard mechanical disk. Works great with 1000 miles around the Peak District in England and in the Pyrenees. We do tend to descend fast, but with a level of confidence, given the 2 V-brakes and Hope disk.
