And thanks for making such a fine bike. It sucks when poor business interferes with a fine product.

i ordered a nomad when i heard things were in doubt out there... glad i have it. still waiting for the alt hitch though...
the trailer is fantastic, wonderful little bit of bike craftsmanship and ingenuity.
sorry to hear they are out of the recumbent and tandem biz... always wants a burley recumbent as an alt to my stable of bicycles...

Sorry to hear that you were on the short end of the stick in the restructure. Although I'm not sure if it was sincere, Bill McCready at Santana Cycles Inc., Claremont, CA, indicated he may have opportunities for fabricators, etc.. given their current production levels. It might be worth a call if you or anyone else who is now out of work is interested in spending some time in the Foothills outside LA.

I thought I read there was a bit of filing to do, but now I read here that it fits the Wike and Burley trailers.

So far the regular hitch is working... I was worried about curved stays.
Haven't tried it on the MTB though... a Yeti with really odd stays.

Burley situation
Steelboy's comments - a person who it sounds like has 'inside' information regarding frame production - points up some of the sadder aspects of the whole Burley collapse. It's not that there was ever a lot of issue with product quality; but rather, the shenanigans (I'm being nice in the description here) of a few that used Burley's coopertive structure and a tough retail/manufacturing environment to take advantage of the biz. One can only hope that the broken promises (which Steelboy alludes to) over the past two years to so many, will catch up with those responsible. It might be already ...

Loss of jobs
TandemGeek is correct; I was also informed that there might be possible openings with Santana in California (but, as Bill M. there stated, it might not be as nice in their neck of the woods compared with the green of Oregon).

Steelboy:
Thank You (and your team) for making our 25th anniversary Tosa. Sincerely. One of the reasons I bought it was because it was going to be made in Eugene, by a worker owned business, by people who care. I am very sorry for what has happened to you guys.
It is a great bike and I am proud to own it. I am confident it will last and our whole family will enjoy it for a long time.
I hope for the best for all of you.

Hey Steelboy,
If you're the guy that put the frame of our Rivazza together, all we can say is thank you very much for doing such a good and careful job. We have been riding it once or twice a week for almost two years now and it is one sweet bike! We were incredibly sad to see Burley drop its cooperative structure and, since that day, have suspected that something like this was coming. We're just glad we got a Burley when we had the chance. I very much doubt we will ever see any "made in America" Burley bikes again. It's a loss.
Good luck in your future endeavors ....

Stealboy, Thanks for getting me a national championship jersey! Burley Rivazza bought in spring '06 raced in PA in July. Dropped everyone after 3 of 7 laps. We named the bike the "Rock-It". I was wondering why this bike didn't sell for $1,000 more at least.

I loved it! Everyone was complaining before both the TT and RR but I decided to play head games and raved about it. We lost the TT in a thunderstorm by 16 seconds to a Seattle team. We could out climb them but they easily out dared us on the mountain descents with zero visibility. I hear it might be there again 2007.
