Two stokers = twice the fun.

ephin, that's awesome. Love seeing kids on tandems! Where in PA are you located?

Thanks. I think most people love seeing families cycling. We get tons of smiles. We're in Bucks County.

Lunch stop riding through Camp Pendleton. Finally warmer weather.

A single on a Calfee caught up with us and we rode together for awhile. Turns out he rents and sells Calfee in our area.
He asked if I would be willing to loan out our tandem for test rides. I told him I liked the bike too much I would never loan it out.
But I did agree to be a reference for potential customers.

Sorry to everyone who's having nasty weather, but last weekend the weather in sunny So Cal was just about perfect. We went for a ride with the Orange County Rebel Riders and had a blast.

The blurry photo shows how fast we are (at least in our own minds).

Great thread, which I've only just discovered! I don't have a tandem, but here's one of my favourite tandem pictures, sorry if it's already been posted, but here it is once again: http://wildavis.smugmug.com/Bikes/mi...0stoker-X2.jpg :thumb:

Got our first ride in for 2013. A organized ride from Deer Park (Houston) to the San Jacinto Monument where Texas won its independence. A nice 70 degree ride and a history refresher course as well.

I did tell the wife that being a stoker will help with losing weight ......maybe they over did it.

We lived in La Porte 9/85-7/86. We didn't ride much then (I was pregnant for much of that time) but took all our visitors to the San Jacinto Monument. Brings back nice memories.

You had a Zastava 750, or a Fiat 600? Mine is the Zastava, with all the parts from Fiat and assembled in the former Yugoslavia.

gracehowler 02-11-13 10:20 AM

Fiat 600, the fun part I remember was if you were on the road at 50 mph and turned on the headlights the car slowed down, even worse than the bicycle generator drag! It was also fun to put too many students inside.

Our tandem friends on a ride in the hills east of the San Francisco Bay. Climbed Patterson Pass, (decended at over 55mph with a tailwind) to Tracy and returned over Altamont Pass. Windy day. I've got the red jacket sleeves in back. Good time had by all.

Good job! I would guess that 95% of all 15 year old kids wouldn't be caught dead on a tandem with their Dad.

ahultin 02-19-13 08:51 PM

Yep, I am still unsure of how I got her to do it :)

Hi Mike

Lovely part of the world, but judging by the clothes you are in, I'm guessing this photo wasn't taken recently!:)

Cheers,
