Nice - very nice.
Glad you got your b-day wish! It's another 3-6" of snow in Ohio today so it'll be skiing with my sweetie tomorrow here. Biking later maybe but not this week. |
Some coworkers and I did the Banks-Vernonia rail trail yesterday, starting at 7am. It is 21 miles each way. It started out slightly above freezing, and I regretted leaving my shoe covers at home. :P
My wife met me in Vernonia with our tandem so we could ride it back together. By the time we started the ride back, it had warmed up to the low 60's. http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r...ps7yvepm9y.jpg http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r...psynslhz2b.jpg http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r...psfbhpsyue.jpg One of the trestles is still intact, and quite fun to ride across. One week ago at the Wheeling Wheelmen St. Patrick's Day Ride in Wauconda, Illinois, 184 riders, 28 degrees, cold wind out of the east. If you look closely, you can see that Ginny is smiling. |
3bb, you two sure look cold even if you are smiling!
We managed our first tandem ride of the year, 20 mile round trip on the Minuteman Bikeway. http://world.std.com/~muller/pics/Le...torsCenter.jpg http://world.std.com/~muller/pics/No...tionNeeded.jpg |

One of the timed segments of the NJ Fondo. Believe it or not my stoker beat my time on the segment and it was legit! |
I love the motion blur. Photogs at events I've ridden always position themselves where you are riding uphill the slowest, probably to make sure they can focus (as well as get nice mountain scenery in the background).

My daughter and I rode through the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival a few weeks ago. It was really great riding with her, as it's usually like pulling teeth to get her out on the bike. We rode about 35 miles and she had a bunch of fun photographing the flowers.

The wife and I did the Oregon Reach the Beach ride on Saturday, pretty decent weather! She did quite well, being 5 months pregnant.

Picked up a Burley Duet to ride with the kid and the girlfriend. So far, we're loving it. A few tweaks here and there and she'll be a perfect fit. Great being able to spend some time together riding, rather than blasting ahead and waiting patiently, or maybe not so.... It may have been a bit wet & muddy the day we rode (And I'll note that the no helmet pic was not moving - was a test fit with the kid. I'm a strong proponent of helmets).

First try for us. We had a lot of fun! We hauled it down to the hatchery and then went a couple miles down the canal path, making much better time than our usual caravan would have.
This was a success, so I've now got permission to shop, as soon as I make garage space and budget out of a Honda CL350 that hasn't budged in three years. This bike is a rental ($21 for two hours!) from Bicycle Planet in Folsom. The fit and style was not ours, I think we'd wind up with a size smaller in back and a flatbar setup. I think she'd prefer a Da Vinci but not sure if the budget will cover that. Baby loves Camelbacks. https://c2.staticflickr.com/8/7741/1...c44b41df_c.jpgUntitled by Darth Lefty, on Flickr |
Watch out. My son got the bite valve off a few times from my camelback. Now I just leave it sans bite and use shut off to control water.
We fill the trailer with toys and are good for an hour ride. Then we play in the park for an hour and he sleeps all the way home. |
