Shipping Luggage to end of VBT Tuscany Tour

We are going to Tuscany with VBT in October. We will bring our Friday Tandem Twosday. They will only take 2 pieces of luggage. This will need to be either the bike suitcases, or our personal suitcases/duffels. Has anyone out there shipped bags to their final stop? What was the experience?
We start in Florence and end in Italy.

I don't know how big are your tandem cases since you use a bike Friday. But our cases are so large, that our clothes, etc. would fit plus the collapsed duffel bags inside the cases with no problem.

Sounds like you are starting and finishing in just one country (Italy). It that is so, UPS shouldn't have any problem getting your stuff to the final destination as long as you have a shipping address. We shipped our S&S case from Frankfurt to Passau via UPS with no problems.

You should note that if you ship a case out of a cardboard box UPS only guarantees the content not the outer package-it might get scratched up a bit (but no more than what you would expect from an airline trip).

We shipped our S+S cases and other luggage ahead via UPS in Germany this summer. It's done over the web so it will be helpful to have computer access and someone who can navigate the screens in Italian. And someone needs to be at each end for pickup and delivery.
