First ride - YAY!

Well... second. But today my girlfriend and I had our first ride on our "new" Burley.
We rode in my yard (large) friday, to get a feel for it. Realized then that I'm gonna have a hard time at first remembering to call out actions in advance.
Today, since it was nice out (76 degrees) we did my yard loop twice then we finally took it out on the road. Got some odd looks, I think, but we were wearing smiles the whole time. It was largely a shakedown ride with both of us on it but it gave both of us an idea of whether or not we could do it.
I realized I need to pay attention to how I center myself on the bike so I'm not swaying it back and forth without meaning to. I also need to remember to call out "coasting" and "shifting x" sometimes. I'll get there, though.
She's not used to a road saddle, so it's harder than she's used to. But she says it's only hard in her sit bones so I'm pretty sure she'll get used to it after a while. She's gonna need a longer stem and wide bullhorns so that her hands aren't getting pressed on my butt (as they currently are, plus she doesn't like the drops).
Otherwise it was very fun. I think she's excited for spring to come rolling around. I know I am.
Sorry there's no pics, though. Didn't have anyone around to take any.

Excellent!

There's nothing quite like the excitement of your first rides on a tandem bike! Enjoy your time riding together safely!
