Just got the Burley last night. Thanks for input.

We test drove that new 02 Burley Duet friday and saturday and had to have it back by 4:00. Thought about it overnight and decided to purchase it on Sunday. Went back to the lbs and asked what there bottom dollar would be to make me take that Duet instead of the Raleigh Pursuit that we were looking at across town. It had the same componants as the Duet but could be had for 1400.00.

To my surprise the sales manager said he was tired of looking at the Duet and would take another 150.00 off of the price that was already reduced to 1700.00 from the original 2450.00. So now the price of the Raleigh is 1400.00 and the Duet is 1550.00. I jumped at the chance to have a Burley for only that little of a difference, plus I would have had to order the Raleigh. I got very lucky I think. I went ahead and bought the seat post at the shop. They had a Bontrager one for 40.00 plus 13.00 for the shim to make it fit. I would have felt guilty buying the post online after they gave me such a good deal and let me test drive the bike for 2 days. They have treated me well. And like I couldn't care less that it is a 02 model instead of a 04 model.

Great deal! I'm sure you will enjoy your new ride and it sounds like you have established a good relationship with your lbs. I wish we had someone locally who seemed interested in having our business.
