Average number of miles per month?
I'm sure this varies greatly, but I am curious to know about how many miles per month you ride your tandem when it's "riding season"? Right now we are at 350-375 but I'm curious what others do. For us some weeks are higher because of easier terrain whereas a few rides with climbing will keep the mileage lower.

We do a similar mileage to you at the moment (winter). Summer will be a bit more and will double for a few weeks now and again depending on events we are training for. With 5 children still at home and one of them a preschooler we are just glad that we can get out and ride a few hours a week.

About 120 mi/mo on the tandem during the 6 months of riding season. I get in another 100/mo between my single and my mtb. (That's basically one ride a week on the tandem and then I sneak in an additional ride mid-week.)

My tandem is almost ten years old with almost 11,000 miles on it. Annual mileage has ranged from 800 to about 2000, depending on stoker availability. The record month is 530, which my daughter wants to break this summer when she's home from college. I didn't get reported to the authorities for dragging her and her brother out in Minnesota winters, but those months saw considerably fewer rides.

For the last four years we have averaged 4500 miles per year. We don't drop off much in winter as we drive down the mountains and get to ride in the San Joaquin Valley. It is always nice to be able to escape the winter in California with just a short drive down the hill.

Riding season? Are you suggesting there is another?
When not on tour, our typical/baseline tandem month was 200-300 km. Yes, km. The numbers look bigger, and that's what I have on the odometer. Rallies, or other special events increase the number. When on tour (which includes now) the numbers run around 110-120 km/day 5 days out of 7. Which would be around 2200 km/month.

We ride about 4500 miles per year total, about 800-1000 are on the tandem.
This year we've got about 900 total miles in so far but only about 60 on the tandem. It's been raining so much we've been riding our cyclocross bikes which have fenders. Miles on the tandem should improve if it ever stops raining.

Tandem mileage from May 2010 through April 2011 - 4,278 tandem + 1,017 single. I find it helpful to keep a log. Basically 5,000 year migrating to more and more tandem and less and less single riding.
