Fairwheels recently posted an article about synchro shifting and how it might be done on road setups in the future...

On the steepest climbs around our Boulder, Colorado home we are working pretty hard to spin up, but are able to spin. The only challenge is that the internal battery needed to be updated to the latest firmware to work with the internal battery. We were using DA before "upgrading" to the Ultegra derailleur.
What compact crankset are you using? Thank you!

It's a set of Lightning Tandem cranks. Lightning Carbon Cranks They work well but are very expensive. We had some creaking but then I've been using a product called Tefgel on the center bolt and the creaking is gone.

The XTR Di2 triple on road brake/shifter does work. See post under "gravel tandem project" here: https://www.bikeforums.net/tandem-cyc...l#post18324470
