Hey everyone just got a job at my LBS and I am super excited about it. I am officially the newest employee of B&B Bicycles in Cedar Hill. It is going to be awesome.

Any one else work at a shop? got any pointers or things I should look forward too?

Not from Texas so I should probably keep my mouth shut, but what the heck...

Things not to look forward to: fixing beat up department store bikes all the time, explaining to people why things cost what they do, the smell of squishy comfort bike seats in the summer, dealing with people who ask if you can match mail order prices

Things to look forward to: the discount, EP, talking to people who are really psyched about riding, learning so much more about bikes than you already do, getting a kid set up on his/her first bike, and meeting new riding buddies.

All in all bike shop jobs can be a lot of fun, congrats and enjoy!

probably a little of both if I can get it my way, but I will start out mostly on the sales floor
