Need a new terminus for Trinity Trail ride
For several years my son and I have occaisionally ridden from Sansom Park south thru the various parks, the Stockyards, and finally the Trinity Trail to I-20 and return. Nice ride at about 20 miles with lots of varied urban (but low auto traffic) scenery. We have parked at Samson Park w/o incident or fear.
Recently we have;
a) pulled up as the police were "clearing the park", hearing gunfire("they just shoot up in the air") as an amused policeman told us that we 'didn't belong there'. We agreed.
b) chased away from the apartments' parking lots (residents only, I understand)
c) told that the TCC lot north of 820 is "for student use" (I pay taxes for that, I don't understand)
Now I'm looking for someplace else to park in that area. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, did you find an alternative.

To be clear, you are referring to Buck Sansom Park where the shooting's going on, not Marion Sansom Park, off of Robert's Cut Off, where a pretty good mountain bike trail is maintained. Marion Sansom Park is relatively safe., and located only a mile or so from the end of the Trinity Trail.
You might try parking where the trail runs under North Side Drive, or at the FW Cats stadium - never seen/heard any issues there. You could also hit it from Gateway Park, on the East Side.

Yep Buck Sansom it is. Getting there from Keller by pedaling is not feasible at 5 or 6 o'clock in the evening.
The good parking places south of the Stockyards just cut out some of our favorite Ft Worth areas.

I'm down by the Benbrook end of the trail and have only ridden up on the north side a few times. But here is a link to the Trinity Trail Map showing the various trail heads.
