Tired of the rain

I am so tired of the rain we have been having here lately. How much rain has everyone had these past of couple of days?

Hopefully I will get to ride tomorrow also. I was planning on doing a 45 mile ride this weekend but since I havent got to ride in a couple weeks, I am going to postpone it.

This may or may not be my first post.... not sure. But if it is, then Hi, everyone.

mthayer, I just saw your name on here and was confused for a second. My name is also M. Thayer. Matt Thayer here.

What's your first name?

Just wanted to say hey. I'm done riding in the rain, until I have a bike specifically a rain bike. Not too much rain where I am though anyway.

Much more of this and we will all need paddle boats. At least the the hills aren't falling down around us though.

getting really tired of the rain also, but refuse to swap the necessary stuff over to make the rain bike rideable. Even on nice days, I can't commute cause the only route goes through a reservoir that's flooded :/ , or along the gravel road damn (no bike capable).

just remember this could be DC area and we'd be up to our butts in snow. Dulles airport recorded 30.2 inches.

but yah, I'm tired of it already, the lakes are full, some minor mudslides around (nice one in Frisco they've been
working on for a while) and I really don't like riding in cold rain.

I would take frozen ground instead of the soup that we have down here. Break through the crust, and your stuck. This is what we got to free this afternoon at work. Lovely time.

I'm really getting sick and tired of the cold. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the fact that we aren't blanketed in x-feet of snow... BUT I'm actually starting to crave nonstop sweating. The last few rides have been miserable. Hands, feet, face, etc are numb for 3+ hours and regardless of what I do or wear, I'm absolutely freezing the entire time. At least when it's hot, you can take a moment to cool off with a couple swigs of ice cold water and taking off a layer or two.

Yeah, I know in a couple of months when its 95+ with 100% humidity, I'll regret saying that but we do live in Texas afterall.... It's suppose to be hot, dammit.

It's going on a month since my last ride and I don't ride in rain by choice. I hate being cooped up but it beats being miserable on a cold, windy ride. Unfortunately, the weather guesser said last night it's going to continue.

I love it. drive into work this morning was 'interesting', and it sure is pretty.
not sure how much riding (if any) I'll be doing though, I expect by the time I get home
all the slush on the roads will be frozen.

I woke up to a beautiful blanket of white at 6AM. Got the boys up, with the help of two happy dogs, got them fed and dressed and then watched them have a snow ball fight before school. Did not allow enough time for dad to join in sadly. This afternoon though, I will school them in the fine art of snow ball fighting. Well, as much as a native Texan can school two other native Texans in snow ball fighting that is.

anyone else notice that when you're on a dry road that when it get's wet - even a little - it starts to feel tacky - almost sticky

We lost power at 9 pm last night. Still out. No heat, no lights, no motor cars, not a single luxury, like Robinson Carusoe, it's prmitive as can be. We did get in a snow ball fight and some snow baseball this am before I headed off to work. Tonight could be fun, might be heading to my brothers in Plano.

Dear fellow Houstonians,

If you're required to stay in the office, I strongly suggest not looking out a window. It's an absolutely, positively beautiful day. Mid 50's with a very slight breeze and within an hour, my rear will be at THP and taking advantage of it.
