Need some help in Alpine, TX
My nephew has recently relocated to Alpine TX to attend college. While visiting in Utah, he got very interested in cycling and wants to continue. Anybody out there in SW Texas know of a reliable LBS, or club, or collective in Alpine? I'm considering shipping a bike to him, but would like some help getting him properly fitted.
Cheers!
Cheers!

Uber Goober
Yahoo Local shows a bike shop in Alpine, and if you put the address into Google maps, you can pull up the streetview that shows there is indeed a business there by that name.

I don't know a lot about bike sizing, but I gather at certain places, it's sort of a science, and at other places, it involves someone looking at you and saying, "Well, you look to be about ___ size...". So it could be rather hit or miss on the sizing end at an unfamiliar store.
There is a cycling club (maybe more than one) in the Midland-Odessa area, with emails shown here:

You might contact one or two of them, and get their input on the situation. Or more to the point, whether there are places in Midland-Odessa worth driving 180 miles for service or sizing or whatever. It wouldn't be too surprising if they were familiar with the shop there in Alpine as well.

The Bikeman sell used bikes.
That might be better then shipping one.
