TX Cyclesport.com Experiences

I was wondering if any Texas BF members have shopped with Texascyclesport.com before?

I'm in need of a new set of Continental GP4000S tires. I remembered their website because their prices on gruppos rivals that of Ribble and Pro Bike Kit. On the GP4000 specifically they state they will attempt to match prices from European shops. I took them up on it, and we agreed upon a very fair price. Even though I could still get the tires a hair cheaper from PBK and not have to pay tax or shipping I went ahead and purchased them figuring it would be better to support a local store that took the initiative to compete with the European ones. That was Thursday. I am currently working away from home and figured since I'm so close to Austin I would get them shipped directly here.

Friday morning while at work I get an e-mail saying my order was cancelled because:
As listed during the Checkout Process, on your Invoice and Confirmation:
Orders that are placed with Different Residential Billing and Shipping Addresses or placed and billed outside the contiguous 48 United States are NOT accepted.

In an effort to protect our On-Line Store Customers:
The Credit Card shipping address provided did not verify with your Visa, MasterCard, Discover or Amex Credit Card Issuer. If you have moved recently, we must have the following items done before your order will be sent:
1) Change your old billing address to the current shipping address with the Credit Card Issuing Company. This must match the card issuer before any order will be sent.
2) Notify us after the change with your Credit Card Issuing Company is completed.
Additionally, we will report this card to Credit Card Issuer if we do not hear back with this information within 2 hours.
At no point did they say anything of the sort in the checkout or invoicing process. In fact, I was prompted to enter a shipping address separate from a billing one during checkout. If this was such a high priority to them, why even offer the option? And now they supposedly contacted my credit card company because I wasn't able to get back to them within two hours?? I've been shopping online for the past 15 years and never seen anyone do this.

Yesterday night and today I have tried contacting them. Their 1-800 number on the website is not active. I have tried calling their local number which goes to an answering machine. They list their store hours on Saturday as 8-5 CST, but no one has returned a call or picked up the phone. I e-mailed them about the situation and got a blank reply back with just my original e-mail quoted.

I know I should probably wait and try contacting them again Monday, but I'm getting nervous I may have fallen for a CC scheme or bait and switch.

Has anyone else on BF dealt with them before? At this point I'm really seeing red flags and I'm about a business day away from contacting my credit card company and requesting a new card.

Thanks

It's been several years, but I've bought stuff there, no prob.

I get the impression it's a one-man show, so try to find a local # to call, or keep emailing.

Meant to update this a while back, but got really busy. Ended up getting in touch with them, and ironed things out. I still don't agree with their policy and definitely wasn't explained this anywhere (although they claim otherwise). Got my tires delivered and am somewhat satisfied. I'll probably give them another chance if there's something I need. However, I'm still left with a feeling that they over promise and under deliver.
