I've used that saw to cut the ends off many a fallen tree enough to allow me to walk the bike past the main trunk. It depends on the size of the tree. It's very nice not to have to unload the bike or heft it at every fallen tree. A lot of the trees are not all that big.

What are you planning for food? and food storage (aka, bears, raccoons, squirrels)?
You have rope to hoist the stuff into the air at night, but do you have a small dry bag or small plastic sandwich bags to put the food/leftovers into to prevent smell?

Also recommend a small lighter. It is amazing.

Are your lights the USB rechargeable or battery powered? I recommend battery power over USB for long tours. When it gets dark, nothing is worse then discovering your lights don't have enough charge. Just always have extra batteries on hand.

For food it's whatever I can find at grocery stores along the way. I plan on cooking most of the time and probably won't do freeze dried prepared meals due to budget restraints. For a storage system I was planning on a beer canister, but now I'm looking into hanging options from Zpacks.

Thanks. I forgot to list the lighter.

My bike lights are USB, my headtorch is AAA, and my Quark Pro take CR123A. I plan to use my solar panel/battery to charge both the USB's and AAA (as well as have a few spares on hand). The Quark Pro won't need replacement batteries for the tour.

I'm sure that the beer canister will confuse the bears! LOL

If you really like to cook, rather than boil water in titanium, try at home some Bear Creek soups (Soups | Bear Creek Country Kitchens ®). About 3.60 at my grocer, or less than 3.50 if you shop WalMart. My wife and I really like the potato soup (lots of fat and high calories, though), and think the chili tastes so good (with stewed tomatoes) that we don't even miss the meat. De gustibus non est disputandum.
