Nice. What is the gearing? And, rear derailer? Is there an extender like the wolftooth adaptor can it stock handle that range.

Shimano GRX Di2, rear derailleur is the RX 817, Shimano says max teeth is 42, my cassette is a XT 11-46 and the derailleur works without any problem, no adapter mounted.
But maybe BELLE Cycles positioned the derailleur change a bit lower? I will ask him, he knew that we will use a 46 cassette, also he build several bikes before this one with the same setup.
Front ring is a 38.

This is an animal crossing bridge, one of several along the Bow Valley Corridor. Banff, AB.
They have fencing along the hwy which has really reduced roadkill and these crossings every so often so the animals can still pass over.

We watched the progress over the time they were built and habitat established. They planted rows of trees and deadfall hedgerows so prey species could feel sheltered (rather than cross an exposed gap). Now they are very natural looking. It's a cool idea for sure. I also learned that NP campgrounds are intentional designed to be spread out so that wildlife feels more comfortable wandering through without negotiating a wall of campers. Unlike municipal or private sites, there is a lot of green space between pads.

This summer on three rocky mt. trips I saw moose, big horn sheep, mountain goats, deer, a fox, a black bear and a wolf (first one!).

Somewhat surreal. It was predawn in Kootenay NP on my way home and I saw a shape in the ditch ahead. I wasn't going fast anyway and slowed to a stop (in my minivan) and a large wolf climbed out of the ditch and sauntered across the road not 5 feet in front of my bumper. It looked right at me, as if wondering if I would give it a sandwich and I scrambled like mad to get my camera out but by the time I did it climbed the opposite embankment and was gone. The timing was freakish as the hwy at that time was deserted but it chose to cross directly in front of me.

You are correct. Those are the Three Sisters in the background. We rode up there before ODOT opened the pass to motor vehicle traffic. It sure makes the descent more fun Are you an Oregonian?

Doug, it's always neat and impressive isn't it when we see trees growing out of what appears to be impossible conditions?

Love the photos you do. Great landscapes, old architecture, interesting people.

I've seen such stuff on the southwest coast of Hawaii, near the lava fields, and up at the treeline in high alpine granite spires. (Not spots I've cycled to.) It can be amazing how tenacious life can be, what sort of tough circumstances it can still find a way to live through.

One of the things I most like about traveling. Getting to see how people live life, how wildlife copes, how different places can be ... yet how similar.

thanks, I try my best to stay off road, if on the road please little roads. bigger roads with traffic only little km to "connect" little roads, if needed.
