Trentkln27, You can probably just leave the mountain bike crank set on the bike for all of your riding. The gear inches with a 44:11 and a 52:13 top is the same, ~108 GI. Compare with what you use now.

With the tiagra set top will be 50:11 which is faster than what you listed. Where I live is incredibly flat and easy to use very fast gear often. I have a bike with 53:11 and I use its top gear all the time.
