May Long Weekend Tours???

Is anyone else going on a May long weekend tour?

At about 4 am on Saturday, I'll be driving 300 kms to the starting point of my tour, Castle Junction, AB. From there about 3-400 people and I will be cycling to Radium Hotsprings, BC; then to Golden, BC on Sunday; then back to Castle Junction on Monday. Each day will be about 105 kms.

I've had a look at the route profile and the first day doesn't look too bad ... sort of a warmup day. However, the second and third days have quite a bit of climbing. I figure it will be good practice.

The route is also very scenic so I plan to take a number of photos, and post them on my Yahoo album (see signature line below)

How about you?? Where are you going?

You're referring to Victoria Day weekend? I won't be (have Apple store opening to geek at with the SO) but hopefully the weekend after I'll finally be getting my custom Rock Tour from Ideal Bikes in Picton and biking back to Toronto from there (275KM). Maybe try it in one shot!

275KM? Is that about 170 miles? Thats a good trip. What is Victoria's Day? Is it at the end of the month?

We (U.S.) have Memorial Day weekend at the end of the month. I have a 225 mile ride (3 days for me) from KCMO to St. Louis, MO. I'll be riding solo. I've invited a few people but most already have plans.

Ride safe. Especially if your weekend is a holiday weekend. Lots of crazy drivers out there!

Something like that. Victoria Day weekend is actually the 21st-23rd (Monday being Queen Victoria's birthday). Looks like my May tour will be pushed back until mid-June since the bike won't be ready until the end of May. I could get it on the 4th of June but have committed to doing the Ride for Heart here in Toronto (75KM) on the Sunday so that'll be out. Looks like I won't do this until June 11/12.

Major suckage for me.

That's cool about Victoria Day. What kind of weather are you having in Toronto? We just got our first day of 90 deg in Missouri. Here comes the heat and humidity!

It's actually been nice. We get these periods of 3-5 days of nice warm (but not too warm) and then it gets cool for a few days (with rain).
