interested in biking in africa this summer?
hello- i wanted to see if anyone was interested in joining me for a touring ride in zambia this summer? the tour goes from june20-july9, and travels from the capital (lusaka) to the victoria falls, one of the 7 wonders of the natural world, about 325 miles over 7 days. about 20 or so will be on the trip and we use mountain bikes to get to some rural areas for camping, etc. (we use bikes there). the wildlife and scenery is amazing. the group we ride with also does some fundraising before the ride for some nonprofits - world bicycle relief, grassroot soccer (they organize soccer tournaments for kids and do HIV education and testing), and zambian health and education trust (work on infectious disease with high risk populations). If you are interested, please send me an email -- beth@chooda.org registration will be closed march 1.

About 20 or so will be on the trip and we use mountain bikes to get to some rural areas. (We are working with a touring company there, so our bikes are provided) We will be camping for a majority of the trip. The wildlife and scenery is amazing.
Also, the group we ride with also does some fundraising before the ride for some nonprofits in Zambia - World Bicycle Relief, Grassroot Soccer (they organize soccer tournaments for kids and do HIV education and testing), and Zambian Health and Education Trust (work on infectious disease with high-risk populations). Areally unique part of the ride is you actually visit the organizations along the way.
If you are interested, please send me an email -- beth@chooda.org and I will send you more information. Registration will be closed March 1.

Join me for a tour in Zambia this summer?
Join me for Bike Zambia, a touring ride from Lusaka (the capital of Zambia) to Victoria Falls (in Livingstone), one of the 7 natural wonders of the world. The dates are June29-July9
The tour goes 325 miles in 7 days and we mostly camp along the way. We have a sag vehicle that travels with us. About 20 or so people participate in the ride. We work with a touring company, who provides us with mountain bikes, all meals, and arranges camping/lodging (depending where we are). We see amazing wildlife along the way and meet extraordinary people and organizations.
The ride also raises money for organizations that fight HIV/AIDS and provide resources to empower women and girls. We support World Bicycle Relief (that provides bikes to people to get to school and work, as well as health care providers to see more patients quickly), Grassroot Soccer, which provides funding for soccer tournaments and practices to for kids to do HIV testing and HIV education. Lastly, an organization called Zambian Health and Education Trust that works with high risk populations, working to combat infectious disease.
It is absolutely amazing and great way to see Africa. If you are interested, you can email me at beth at chooda dot org. Thanks so much - registration closes on March 1.
