we are carbon, organic chemistry is all about carbon .. hydrocarbons are getting burned as we speak..
But hey you're probably better for your Luddite preferences ..

I have a Carbon fiber (Pre- Preg vacuum bagged, in an autoclave like oven)
Mandolin..
It would be bike touring perfect , were I to go back in time and re run my '97 pub crawl tour
music playing with others along the way , thru Ireland & Scotland , I did for my 50'th year..

That's full retail. The actual price may vary considerably. My local shop sold a demo model of the steel version in near-perfect condition for just over $1,000.
I consider $3k excellent for a full carbon bicycle with a good wheelset and good component choices. You're also talking to the wrong person when you mention the available gears.....

Not a carbon fan, more price than anything. Needed a bash guard for the fatty, a 1x11 drivetrain, my local had the needed bcd 82? but in carbon. That thing has held up for 4 seasons, quite a few rock strikes at speed. A few small dings, still works fine.
