This sounds lovely.
"It’s for elemental experiences like these that people venture to this part of Ireland. An often “forgotten county”, it is better-known for its Irish language-speaking areas and, less positively, inhospitable weather and long history of deprivation and depopulation. Yet it has some of the most surprising and spectacular places to visit in the whole country. Its very isolation is the point, and its strongest draw."

Just returned from a tour of the Burren and Connemara area over on the west side run by VBT and absolutely loved it. As you warn the weather was inclement parts of every day and good rain gear a must. Despite the rain, some steep hills and narrow roads the riding was superb assisted by the incredible scenery. Most unexpected was the absolutely warm, engaging, funny and helpful people. Highly recommended.
