If you mean this , the Cannondale use the same ratio. They lowered the gearing over the years.

Although I've never used a trailer, I think using one for this particular trip is a bad idea. We're talking credit card touring here. I don't see the point of carrying a trailer that will probably be heavier than your cargo.

Thanks Erik. I stand (ok I sit) corrected. That's the same gearing that I run, and generally I'm pretty happy with it. The bike, when I got it, had a 52*42*30, and it wasn't well set up for loaded touring.
