Simon has amazing skill & ingenuity, I esp like the horns; I've long wondered why almost nobody considers the obvious safety advantage of a horn vs bell or shouting.

^ That's an interesting thought. A small horn, like one from a motorcycle, and a small rechargeable battery back wired to the dynamo hub wouldn't weigh much. It could all be mounted right to the fork, so wouldn't get in the way either. Hmm...

PS match this all to a regenerative braking system that puts electricity back into the battery.. I know from the portable power tools I use at work..light weight batteries have come a long way..

'The Delorean Bike"? Where's the flux capacitor? I'm sure its not going to reach 88MPH, so no need to worry about it suddenly disappearing. Honest officer, he came speeding by and suddenly just disappeared!

I read some of the comments on the YT site and get a kick out of how a few people can't seem to get that it's just an artistic expression, fun sort of thing. Such serious cyclists so! I guess his ego is strong enough that it doesn't need the status quo to support it. I bet that guy has more fun on that old bike and gets more positive happy feedback from real people he meets everyday. I would love to meet him on the road and have a coffee while chatting about "bodges"
Kind of reminds me of the 2017 inexpensive bike build we ran last winter.

The DeLorean has a 4 wheels, steel chassis, fiberglass body and stainless steel panels, so the comparison falls well short of the mark. The only true similarity is neither are practical for actual touring.

It would probably weigh more than an AirZound. BTW & FWIW, bells 'and no other device' are codified into international cycling regulations: see International Convention on Road Traffic, Article 44.
AirZound looks sort of interesting. Back in the 80's I investigated bike horns & there weren't much available. There was a small handlebar-mount boat-style horn & a cheapo electric horn. IIRC an LBS guy told me the boat-type horn was not good for cold weather since the diaphragm could freeze up. Plus apparently not possible to modulate easily ie a small tap vs big blast. Electric seems simpler but I'm not an engineer & perhaps a horn requires more juice than one would think.
I'm starting to think regs are written by non-cyclists
. As with the German bike light regs limiting voltage--that might be OK for Germany where drivers are used to bikes but it probably hampers the export market. BTW I wonder how many lumens Simon can throw, I assume it's suitable massive!
