You guys are way more hardcore than me. For you higher mileage guys, is it more about enjoying riding a bike for you, or do you still stop to enjoy the sights, pull over and gaze at a beautiful view when you see one, etc? I like to have a leisurely lunch too. I did around 50mi per day on my last long tour, with longer days mixed in(longest being around 75, I think). I’m thinking next time I’d rather cut that down to 40-50ish.

You can't really compare one touring cyclist's daily average to others unless they're riding in similar terrain.
For me, I try to stay away from congested areas, preferring to ride in the country, the more remote the better.
Most of my tours have been in a mountainous or hilly environment as well, so it's easy to stop and take in the
sights as I enjoy my breaks. My mileage of 75-85 per day would be a lot different if I was riding into constant
headwinds, being pushed by daily tailwinds, riding relatively flat country, or was making my way through cities
one after another.
