I didn't get a chance to test that, lol. 😁 I got tired of lugging it around (strapped to my rear rack), and sold it really cheap. It was still free money, and did that buyer a good turn. 🙂 Karma comes around again, so I try to keep mine positive. 👍
BTW, if anyone needs hay, let me know now. I'm at a Gas & Grub, with hay in the barn, off to the side of the store building. 😁

Hey, do I get extra credit, for actually passing through Coyote Pass? 😁 I had no idea this was so close to Kingman, on the way over to Golden Valley (where I be now).

I can't watch videos right now, they eat phone batteries. But I swear to God, a big roadrunner just walked by me, maybe 20 feet away, while I was eating my Krispy Krunchy Cajun chicken. 😁 I got the phone out, but he left before I could grab a pic. 😩
EDIT: He's not nearly as close here, but he brought a second roadrunner along this time, for backup. I can't see the second, but maybe youse guys can, on a big monitor. 😎

Forgot to say, but they were rolling around in the dust, that's why you can't see their long legs.

I got see a roadrunner kill a rattlesnake, it was amazing! This scrawny bird ran right up to the snake and started to dance left and right, left and right, and after doing this several times suddenly struck the snake in one of it's eyes and very fast went back to the previous dance, then again it suddenly struck the other eye, now the snake was blind, the bird grabs the snake by it's head and begins bashing it onto the rocks on the ground which kills the snake. The next part I can't find in videos of these two animals fighting, but the bird drove its beak into the back of the neck up into the head of the snake and I think ate the brains and then left, the videos will show the bird attacking a smaller snake and then eating it whole, but this was a much larger snake so maybe the brains was all the bird wanted. This whole time I was only 15 feet from the action and the bird wasn't scared of me the least bit. I picked up the snake after the bird left and sure enough the eyes were pecked out and there was a small hole that went in just below the skull of the snake, I didn't cut the head open to see if the brains were indeed sucked out but there was cavity there.

Interesting story: Back in 1995 I saw Chuck Jones give a presentation in connection with a museum exhibit about his work. Jones, if you don't know, was, IMO, the best of the best Warner Brothers/Looney Tunes directors. He created the Road Runner and Coyote characters along with Pepe LePew. (He also directed several Dr. Seuss animated pictures, including "The Grinch Who Stole Christmas.")

In any event, Jones told the story of the origin of the Road Runner's "Beep! Beep!" (Let's not start a flame war over whether it's "Beeb! Beep!" or "Meep! Meep!") There was a man who worked in the studio who was very short. He frequently walked speedily through the crowed confines of the studio holding stacks of copy in his palms that were so high that they obstructed his view. In order to alert other employees that he was coming through he would shout out "Beeb! Beep!"

Jones told many other stories that evening as he sat at a drawing table with a video camera over his shoulder, drawing and telling stories for 90 min., including the story of how he and his fellow illustrators, along with Mel Blanc, came up with the voice for Daffy Duck, but I will save that in case there is ever a Dangers From Ducks thread. Seeing him was one of the best $25 I ever spent.

And now you know...the rest of the story.

Actually the Roadrunner is related to the Cuckoo bird family and thus don't make a beeb or a meep sound, but more of a coo sound.

I don't think the cartoon creators were going for accuracy. The story gives an intimate glimpse into the creative process.

Cool story, but how do you explain the horn, on a Plymouth Roadrunner? 😁😉

I believe Plymouth licensed the sound and the bird's image from Warner Brothers. Seriously.

But just think, everytime the Roadrunner got one over on the Coyote it could have said cuckoo and that would be more fitting for what the Coyote was!

I'm trying to remember what year my step sister had, but that was a long time ago now, lol. It wasn't from the '60s, those were more square-ish in the back, with a normal horn. And no later than '75, that's when she had it, bought used. 🤔

When I was a kid a guy around the corner from me had a white Roadrunner Superbird that he would p[ark in the alley. A few years ago I saw a restored, yellow one at an auto place in Layton, NJ. I nearly drooled.

I just missed it, by that much, lol. But '69 was barely the 60s, so I was kinda right, kinda wrong. 🤔😁 But that was a cool video, thanks for the link. 👍 BTW, Belvedere was the platform, never knew that. I learned to drive in a '69 Dodge Coronet, not all that different, I imagine. 😎

Road Runners were Road Runners, whether the beaked-and-winged Superbird (created and sold in sufficient numbers to be homologated for NASCAR) or the "plain" cars that came out originally. As far as collectibles go, the Wing cars are a category unto themselves.

That was a joke, son (to quote from a different Warner Brothers cartoon character). Cars are required by law to have horns and my remark was in response to the earlier query, "...but how do you explain the horn?"

Fair enough. ✌️ I probably misunderstood the context, this morning was a little weird for me. 😉
