Bicycle camcorder

Hi
Does anyone have a recommendation for a bicycle camcorder? I’d like to record license plates and bad drivers behind me while riding. Already use rear view helmet mirror, rear light, and colorful shirts. I’m thinking of a cross between a dash cam and a spy cam recording to SD card with a 6 hr battery life. Thanks in advance

many of the local motorcycle riders here in thailand use helmet-mount recorders that collect front and rear views.

I’d also ask in the road forum, or commuting, probably a must better chance of some folks using dash cam type stuff.

Buy a GoPro on ebay with all of the accessories. There is a saddle mount in some.

I think theses may be the gold standard for a bike-specific set-up: https://cycliq.com/
But a cheap action camera will likely do the job, although 6 hour battery life will be a big ask on a small, cheap camera, or any small camera, really. Better, perhaps, to focus on finding something that can be used while charging and carry a battery pack. And I agree with djb that this sounds more like a commuter concern, and you might get better information there.

Most modern bicycle mounted recorders do not have enough resolution to clearly make out tags and plate numbers.

I guess the OP will have to wait his turn in line to find out its more important to record what is coming from the front, not from the rear. Too many times I have had a two lane road turned into a three lane road, even when their has hardly been any shoulder. This has happened with semis being the one doing the passing. The OP hasn't spent enough time on the road yet or he would know videoing the front is far more important than videoing the rear.
