Carbon bar compatible bag mount?

I have a LonePeak handlebar bag that uses this mount:

My touring bike has aluminum bars, and it presents no issue.

However, I would like the option of using the same bag occasionally on another bike that has carbon drop bars (FSA). Would this present a safety hazard? The mount is a type of plastic, and clamps near the bar interface with the stem.

If you have some extra steerer tube under the stem so that you can install a second stem, you can put a stub of handlebar in that second stem and mount the bracket to that instead. If however your steerer tube is carbon, that might be troublesome, I have no knowledge of carbon stuff.

I described this in more detail at a different post.

Yeah, I saw that (and this). Unfortunately I don't have a long enough steerer tube. I once saw a half-stem made specifically for this application, but I think it was at the time discontinued, and I cannot even find a trace of it now on the internet.
