Winter Tour Video

When I toured Hokkaido late August to mid September 2023 (I arrived right after Obon) the average daytime high was 30+ degrees, with high humidity and the overnight low rarely dropped below 24. 2023 was definitely hotter than normal, according to everyone I talked to. My Canadian blood can tolerate cool weather much better than hot and humid. Looking at weather stats on timeanddate for previous Septembers, I agree with you that I should be prepared for some chilly mornings. I would prefer that to the heat wave from the last trip. Thanks again.

We will be doing part of our summer tour in southern Hokkaido. Second time to go there. I am not a big fan of Hokkaido because landscape reminds me more of Canada (lived there 20 year) than Japan. The main reason we will go there is the cooler temperature. It will be hotter than before but recently our Tohoku summer experience has been too hot. I'm starting to think the summer Tohoku bike tours should be replaced by late September trips.
