help needed mounting rack

I just got a 2005 poprad and love it. I got the bike because I'm going to be doing mostly commuting and a little off road with it, however I have also done some touring in my past and plan to do more in my future. The bike has rack mounts on the chain stay done by the cassette, however no place to attach the top stabilizers onto the frame. I was wondering if anybody has had this problem or know how I could attach the top of the rack to my bike in a safe and non-damaging way. As of now I am leaning towards attaching it to the seat post some how.

Thanks!

GB

Brackets for attaching racks to the setapost are widely available.

For example https://www.gearshift.co.uk/acatalog/...cessories.html

You can use P clips, the better made variant made by Tubus, or a 3-point mounting system using a bolt through the the brake bridge.
