LHT in two new colors

Was reading the specs on the LHT at the Surly site, and it lists Utility Blue and Black Cherry as the frame colors. All the pics show Sage green. Fired off an email to Surly to inquire about it, and they responded that they only have one LHT in blue, and it hasn't been photographed yet, none in black cherry yet. They sent a pic of a Pugsly frame in utility blue; don't have any pics of the black cherry yet. I'm guessing they will have a hard time selling the green once the blue and black cherry are in stock.

I don't know how to put these pictures together but is this typical Surly riding wear?

Hmmm.....not for me. I prefer Camo pants cut off into shorts, a ratty old t-shirt, hiking boots converted for SPD, cotton mesh gloves (no less than 5 years old-and fraying). Typical urban assault wear.

Not before time. My LBS owner has been trying to talk me into a LHT for ages, but I could not live with the colour - sage green = yuk!

Sort of reminds me of the Bianchi Celeste. A very repulsive color. Most either love it or hate it.

Personally, I like the color of the Surly (rotten canned pea green). But I also liked the Bianchi Celeste.

Like my brown Surly Steamroller which is no longer available, the color that is, I will cherish my newly acquired sage green LHT frameset. Glad I got one before the color becomes obsolete. I'm one of those who always liked that "yucky green" from day one, BTW.
As a matter of fact, I recently had the interior of one of my business establishments painted that exact sage green......

Who knows.....my dining room at home could be next...

It's about time they changed the colors. I expect the 520 to change to Utility Blue next year so just wait and see!

That Pugsly with those tires and suspension set post is probably more comfortable than a recumbent. Very nice indeed.

a) Pugsly is a plush ride. Takes a bit of energy to spin those meats though
2) sage green is an awesome color
iii) you never know what the surly guys are up to, in terms of fashion and otherwise.

I'm glad I got my LHT before the color changed. That utility blue looks ugly! The sage green makes the bike look more vintagish.

p.s. the brooks saddle helps too...

Green is the way to go, but if you haven't already latched onto it, what is holding you back. This may bring others into the mix. I would like a flat black powdercoat.

There is something magical about that sage green. It's not the "sexy-gorgeous" Cosmo cover girl of colors, rather its beauty is more subtle, but therefor all the more enchanting.

The green is great - my wife has a new LHT and loves it (the bike and the color), but I'm glad there are new colors so that now if I get one, we won't look like dorks on matching bikes (as if the glasses mirrors don't gove us away....)

I hope they discontinue the green. I enjoy having a unique bike that is not being ridden by the masses. Kill the green, kill the green. I already have my beloved LHT, so kill the green!

From the Surly web site:

"-Long Haul Trucker frameset in two new colors, Utility Blue and Black Cherry pearl, early/mid January, images of these new colors should be on the website in the next few weeks. These colors replace the Sage Green."

I just recieved my sage green LHT. I'm almost finished building it and can't be happier about the color. I thought I'd think it was ugly but in person it is really great. Glad I got a green one before they stop the green. Now I can claim to be an old-school surly officianado.

Soon, I'll have to refer to my LHT as being a green LHT...
Until now, there was only one colour. Like the Model T in black...

I've always dug the green, but I'm color-blind and I like Army surplus stuff, so it's a natch. These new colors I'm anxious to see, though.

I may buy the LHT next year, and I am looking forward to seeing what the Black Cherry looks like.

I think the green is purty. I never thought of the colour as an anti-theft strategy, however.
