trailers vs. panniers

Gimme' your thoughts for a long self supported trip from Canada/Washington to Mexico. pro's and con's would be great from users of both.

Thanks,
Ben

Bikes: Eddy Merckx Corsa Extra, Basso Loto, Pinarello Stelvio, Redline Cyclocross

But just for the record. They are both good. It depends on what you would like to carry. I'm a pannier man but one of the people I rode with last summer was pulling a BOB because her Cyclocross/Touring bike didn't have enough wheelbase for what she wanted to carry. The only negative thing I could say about the BOB is that you can't draft someone who is towing a BOB.

Be SURE to carry innertubes for the trailer!!!

Ben,

Don't have an opinion on your question, but I am interested in making the north to south crossing as well. I am looking at a route east of you, leaving Montana done to Yuma. What route do you plan to take? Francisduckworth@aol.com
