Is anyone else having problems with the search engine??

I have been using this site for a few weeks now. It seems recently that I have been unable to get the search engine to work. Anyone else having troubles??

I saw a post in Foo yesterday. Apparently, it is only searching in the current day's posts. The admins are working on it.

In the meantime, you can google the site. Like "Bike Forums <topic>" Pretty fast and you don't have to wait 15 seconds between queries.

I generally use the Google method myself! Worked better even when the site engine was fully functional.

Bikes: I tour on a Waterford Adventurecycle. It is a fabulous touring bike.

One of the main reasons I started www.biketouringtips.com was to provide a way to categorize interesting posts on discussion forums instead of having to rely on google and phrases. Google is an excellent search engine and if your search phrase is targeted properly, you can easily find what you are looking for. That said, you sometimes have to read through lots of posts to find what you want.

On www.biketouringtips.com, websites (including threads in several on-line forums) are categorized by either location and topic/subtopic (there are 24 topics each with several subtopics) or just by topic/subtopic. So far, I have close to 100 bikeforums.net threads indexed, alone. These days, I am keeping the list current by reading the forum several times a day and adding those threads I find particularly informative. There are over 500 sites currently indexed in the biketouringtips' archive.

I would invite you to include www.biketouringtips.com as a site in searching strategy.

Ray

P.S. There are lots of other websites that could be indexed if you'd like to help out!

I seem to have difficulties with the search engine when folks dig up old zombie posts, reply to them and replay old conversations (sometimes up to a decade old).

I hate the search here. Google is a better option to search within this site. Pretty sad really
