There really isn't much in the way of organized cross-Canada tours.

You might also consider contacting the local cycletouring clubs in the major cities in the provinces along the way. If you end up going solo, you might be able to hook up with various short tours around the cities you cycle through.

I'm confused. You're starting a four-month journey across canada, CANADA!, in September? Won't most of Canada be covered with ice by the time you finish?

To the OP, if you're planning a 4 month tour starting mid-August and ending mid-December, or worse, mid-September and ending mid-January, you'd better ...
1) find another method of transportation across the mountains. All the highways through the mountains close up for various periods of time between early November and late March (sometimes even April) because of avalanches and snowfall.
2) plan to bundle up! For about 3 weeks in late November/early December here in Alberta the temps were down around -20C to -30C, and it happened again for about 2 weeks just recently.
3) get studded tires. There wasn't a whole lot of snow in the Red Deer area until about a week ago, but you just never know. Some winters there are feet of snow by mid-November.
