I once hit a pothole and flipped my loaded bike going down a hill on grass. The bike made contact with the ground on a corner of my front Jandd expedition rack. No problem.

Bikes: LeMond Buenos Aires, Trek 7500, Scattante CFR, Burley Hudson

I use the Jandd Expedition and it has proven itself to be very rugged.

Both are very strong by all reports. If you want durability you will undoubtedly get it with these. They are a good bit too heavy to suit me and I consider them overbuilt. Between the two I think they they are about 3 pounds heavier than what I use (Blackburn EX-1 rear and Lowrider clone front). I find them to also be plenty durable, but I don't have a front platform. It depends on what you want I guess.

Bikes: 2003 Giant Cypress R , 2007 Cannondale T2000

Hi 1-track-mine, I have the Jandd Extreme front rack on my Cannondale T2000. One thing you need to consider is if you are using fenders will it clear them. I had to cut about 1/2" off the bottom hangers and redrill the mounting hole in order to raise the rack to clear my front fender. Once I got the rack fitted to my bike I really like it. I don't like handle bar bags so I put a trunk bag on the top shelf for stuff that I want handy.

I'm pretty secure in the knowledge that they're strong, durable, heavy, etc. What I'm looking for is verification that it (the extreme front rack) will work with a 26" lht fork.
I'm not married to the idea of using the extreme front, but i do want a front rack with a platform...

I have seen pictures of 26" wheeled LHT's with them on. The only thing I remember hearing about the fit was that they needed to use some spacers between the rack and the mid fork braze ons.
