Eastbay Shakedown

Wondering if its absolutely necessary to call in advance and reserve a campsite for any of the larger East Bay Regional Parks in the SF area. If anyone has had experience takin fire roads, and just doing some guerrilla camping, i'd like to hear your advice on the best way to do this.

Yes, it's a good idea to make reservations. Some of the campgrounds are only open seasonally, so that's another good thing to check out.

No problem camping in the bushes if you're unobtrusive and whatever the off-road equivalent of street smart is.
