Anchorage / Alaska area touring information

If anyone starting a tour in Anchorage wants any specific road or trail reccomendations to get from the airport to out of town let me know and I'll help out. The main roads here (road really) is quite busy and not at all bike friendly. Trail alternatives are great. Each spring I see a lot of unhappy riders trapped on the 6 land limited access hyw, they would be safer and happier on the trail system. I commute in season on the trails ( 32 miles rt) and am pretty up date.

I'm in Anc too. That is a suck ass road...especially if you are irritated and jet-lagged from flying.

I'm planning a trip this summer (June) Anc to Glenallen to Paxson via Denali Hwy to Cantwell to DNP to FBX. Catching a ride back with my family who will be visiting up there. I'd love to bike back down but I won't have enough time.

Anchorage Biking

Thanks for the generous offer. I was in FBX last summer on my way to Bettles and spent part of a day riding around Fairbanks - the Best Western had several decent MTBs for guests. Had 1 close call with someone I believe was drunk.
