I own a 96 or 97 Trek 520. The number 520 is stamped into the underside of the bottom bracket. The number 23 is also stamped into the bottom of the bracket. Is this the frame size? Also, is the date of manufacture or year of manufacture stamped anywhere on the bike?

23 is a frame size.... it's a Large frame for the Trek 520.
