Dilema
My girlfriend and I were planning on buying this bike.
https://www.dawes-cycles.co.uk/sardar.asp#
in England this summer. BUT we are flying to America next week and my girlfriend is really keen on the REI safari. Even moreso as at the moment it's 20% off. She would love to buy it now. You know women, not experts when it comes to patience:-)
we don't know much about bikes so just looking at the bikes would you say they were comparable?Similar components?
Do you think I should,
A, buy the Safari $650
B, buy the Sardar $800
C, dump the girlfriend and get a Bruce Gordon:-)
Any advice considered.

Between the 2 I'd get the Sardar personally. It's a better frame and spec'd with years of touring input behind it.
Look around you might still find a 2003 Sardar on clearance in the ballpark of 499 pounds or so. Plus the 2003 model has a really beautiful paint job compared to 2004's boring white
