Suntour bar end shifters question
I'm upgrading an old road Trek, adding Suntour bar end friction shifters. Anyone know if these shifters have enough range for an 8-speed cassette?

yes, they do.
or, at least, the set a friend of mine'd used on his cross check did. perhaps some models don't, but i can't imagine why not.

Their range is only limited by the rear derailleur as they are friction and not indexed. I run a vintage set of Suntour Barcons with a 9 speed set up on my MTB.

I've used them with an 8sp cassette and no problems. Going from top to bottom cogs, the shifter only needed to be moved half way, so I guess there was room for two or three more cogs.

I've used SunTour Sprint shifters on 8 speed cassettes on a couple of bikes.
