Handlebar bag with aero bars
Anyone have any experience with a handlebar bag below aero bars? Or any other ways to stow small-ish cargo in that area? I've got my eye on the Rivendell hobo bag since it seems like a cozy fit underneath the cables. (Shifters are mounted up on the aero bars.)

Unfortnately, I have experience with a handlebar bag and an aerobar. It definately looks "hobo-ish". I don't like to carry stuff in my jersey pockets. When I am on centuries and bike tours, I need somewhere to carry a raincoat, or arm/leg warmers, full size maps, extra food, etc. I have my speedometer mounted on the stem, so I don't have to be bothered remounting it when I remove the aerobars. I have the handlebar bag on the top of the aerobar and use it as a cushion for the area between my elbows which are on the pads and my hands which are gripping the loop of the aerobar. In addition, I have a clear map holder which flops around in the wind that is also on the aerobar. I don't keep all this "junk" on for daily rides.

I don't know if it looks any less hobo-ish but you may want to consider one of these from TNi.

As I don't have aerobars, I'm looking at the BentoBox.

You can get just the bottle holder for aerobars, correct? I may look into this sorta thing for next year, when I will be racing Open mens 40km TT instead of U19 20km

You might want to see if Blackburn still makes a bag to fit between the bars. I have a model with a nice size clear map pocket on top. It is less than 2" deep but will expand to about 4" in a wedge when you need it. I don't use my aero bars much any more, but keep then on mainly for the convenience of the front bag.

I found a Blackburn ata bike show a couple of years ago. They don't make that one anymore, especially since most aerobars aren't as wide as the old style Profile that the Blackburn fit so nicely on.

I have a compact, expanding, Blackburn sack that velcros between the aerobars. It has a sealed plastic map case on top, and the main compartment hold a surprising amount of stuff: tools, maps, food, or whatever. It's a little work of art. I don't think that Blackburn makes them anymore.
I don't use it anymore, so if someone is interested in taking it off my hands, contact me.
