its not a lightweight bike, as much as a "medium duty rambler"
really its a 29er MTB, and i think the wheelbase is kicked out a tiny bit.
i use this bike for everything.
until about 2 weeks ago, i had been using it as my primary "go fast" bike.
(now i'm back on my road bike after over a year off of it, as a buddy and I are getting ready for the Solvang Double)
its a great bike. its measured to my inseam, my reach, the whole deal.
fast enough to ride with my roadie buddies in group rides
fast enough to ride with my MTB buddies in the dirt
enough braze-ons and versatile enough to ride Monterey to Ventura.
cool enough to look fast
geeky enough to look like a pee wee herman bike

Yeah it would be interesting to hear how much the setup, including your supplies for a short bikepacking trip would be. I'm betting under 40 lbs looking at those pics.

i use the Dummy a lot!
however, if its just a 1 or 2 night jaunt, and if there are stores along the way, and you spend money, in the summer, its really easy to spend the days only using a few things.

Funky Seat Post = Cane Creek Thudbuster
this is how i happened up the Thudbuster.
one year at the Sea Otter Classic, somehow, the guys from Cane Creek offered to let me try one out and if i didn't like it i could return it. at the time I was racing 24hr Solo MTB races. the first race with the Thudbuster i got 4th. i was sold.
so ever since, I use one when possible. i have them on 3 bikes, The Pug, The Dummy and The Hunter.
