Hey All! Whata site! GREAT. I'ed like to know of all the owners of the Wonderful Brooks saddles, How do you have your seat positioned? (ex. nose tilted up slightly or level) and why if possible. The reason I'm asking is as I get the brooks closer to being broke-in I'm finding that I have to level the seat more, I used to have the nose tilted up just slightly. One article I read said that the Brooks should be level front to back.
PS. I'm a touring cyclist, and sit in a more upright position(U know old age)!!!!
Thanks, James

You'll likely get all sorts of opinions on this. I used to have mine pointed down too much and upon the advice of some forum members finally decided to nose it up a bit. It has helped my arms/shoulders i think. Otherwise I think anyting around level is probably good, just depends on your preference.

Level & slightly forward from where I would probably position a different saddle. For me, I want to get my "sit" bones in contact with the saddle along a line extending across the saddle from forward rivit to rivit. I'm also a tourist and old, I know.

My Team Pros are pretty much level (miniscule amount of nose up if anything). I had them tilted furhter up for a while, but it was creating a bit of a pressure point at the nose. Like edlfrey, I have them positioned slightly forward of where I might have a non-Brooks saddle, which helps to place my sit bones in perfect contact with the saddle.

Very comfortable! FWIW, I prefer my standard one over the pre-softened one.

Hey edlfrey, I thought so, I've noticed with it tilted up slightly there's more pressure on the tender area, however leveling the nose i felt as tho I was slidding foward, Havent tried the more foward yet but sure sounds good, I will. I can go foward about another half to one inch without messing up the axel to knee ratio. Thanks for the tip.

Bikes: who cares?

Brooks Champion Flyer S. Nose up just a bit so I'm not sliding forward on the seat.

I was given a Brooks Professional Select form a co-worker of mine who doesn't really know bikes (I gave him a gel seat). I think he always sat near the front of the saddle and it's been worn into a wedge shape. The Brooks logo is almost worn off, I can barely make it out the words. He hates Brooks saddles but I think he just had it set up wrong.

I now have it lower in the front. If I don't sit on it nearer to the rear it feels like it's going up my rear, if you know what I mean! I guess I'm trying to "re-break" it in!
