Anyone cycled the Mosel?

As usually happens, my friend and I have changed our plans for this year - no longer Flanders but the Eifel and Mosel in Germany.

Anyone cycled the Mosel. Was it good, and did you go further on any of the other routes in the area.

We have a week and look to do about 250 miles. I was originally looking at starting in Monschau, then go down the Eifel Highland route, then onto the Kyll route, then up the Mosel, and back up the Rhine.

Anyone any experience any of these routes.

Many thanks

My wife and I cycled the Mosel in 1996, from Luxembourg to Koblenz, and from there down the Rhine a short distance to the Lahn River, all the way to Marburg. It's a great route, with lots of vineyards, castles, and places to stay. I transcribed my journal onto CGOAB:

I'm not much of a travel writer, but you might find it a useful reference, despite the lack of digital photos.

Thanks for that. I'll have a read tonight when the kids are in bed.
