First ride after 8 weeks!

So, I took my first ride today after being out of the saddle for 8 weeks after an accident. I won't go into details, but I was hit by a car that ran a stop sign and broke one wrist and sprained the other, as well as breaking some toes. My ride today was by no means a long one, probably about a mile, but it felt amazing to be back on a bicycle. Needless to say, it was an agonizing time out from riding. It's great to be back!

Feels good don`t it? Glad you`re back riding again. I was out from last Oct until this Feb with an "overpedaled" knee so I have very fresh memories of how it is to be away from it. Enjoy yourself, but don`t push it- you don`t want to start all over again.

Isn't it great? Just starting to ride again myself after a knee replacement. Like you, short distances to start. Rode about 3 miles today and it felt fine. Monday I'm going to ask the Physical Terrorist how much he thinks is appropriate, and see if I can kick it up a little.

I just getting my wheels back from a crash 5 months ago. I broke ribs in two places and dislocated a shoulder. I've been back on the bike for a few months now regularly. I went 30 miles today which is the longest ride since the crash.

It does feel good. Glad you're back on it.

Glad you've recovered and hitting the roads again!

And it does feel good to get back out. I took my first ride since Dec 14 on March 21. I'm already pushing 30 miles a ride again, so I'm sure you'll build it up again quickly.
